Sisu was established by a group of people who became friends on the Living with Long-Term Conditions Course run by Citizens Advice.
While each had a different long-term condition, it became apparent that many symptoms overlap each other, but dealing with the condition became easier with just talking to about it to someone who “gets it”, this accompanied by copious amounts of coffee (and tea) , with a large portion of humour thrown in……
After they had completed the course, they set up a social media group to stay in touch, quiet aptly called ‘‘Looney Lifers’ ’ (in reference to the life-long health condition, and the looney part?...obvious really) and each benefited from the peer support each other gave
Realising that the majority of the support groups were condition specific, they decided to start their own group where the symptoms are the part of the condition to work on, in a more positive way, hopefully improving quality of life……….
Sisu was born!!
