Pride in Ripley is proposed to be held on the Bank holiday Sunday of 29th August 2021.
It is proposed the event will be split into zones, with the kids zone being at the Leisure Centre and Fire Station, the Community Zone at Co-op car park, The craft zone at The Market Place, Zen Zone at Beech House car park, and a live music and food zone at Crossley Park. It is also hoped that there will be an enterprise zone and outdoor cinema at Greenwich Park
There will also be street entertainment dotted across the town. As a result of this wide-spread involvement.
It is proposed that the event will be planned and manned by local groups and individuals who will have a vested interest in it succeeding.
It is hoped the event will bring a large footfall to the area on the day and increase subsequent footfall and indirect income, whether monetary or social, afterward as a greater awareness of Ripley and the surrounding area.
With the event taking over most of Ripley town-center, there will be a consequential need for road closures and some restrictions, to allow the safety of pedestrians both attending the event, and those going about normal daily business.
